“BEEEEAAR” at Theater Pub: Behind-the-Bear Article Round-up!

It’s been super-extra-ultra-fun having my piece “BEEEEEAAR!” in San Francisco Theater Pub’s Pint-Sized Play Festival this July.  For the behind-the-bear scoop on the show and its process, check out these links:

    • Interview with me (and fellow festival playwright Sunil Patel) about our scripts and writing process.
    • Interview with director Meg O’Connor (and fellow festival director Neil Higgins) about their methods and schemes.
    • Director Meg O’Connor also wrote a totally bearable article about how she worked together with actor Allison Page to make this solo showcase of a script into a living breathing animal.  It’s called Bear With Me and has lots of great photos of the bear as captured by Erin Maxon.

(If you haven’t read my earlier post about audience reactions to BEEEEAAR, you might want to check that out for the full bear-blog experience.)

Closing night tonight.  It’s been awesome, the bear roared all month for Pint-Sized at Cafe Royale, and made additional appearances in special shows at the Plough and Stars as well as at ERA Art Bar in Oakland; I wish this bear could growl forever!

XOXO -Megan
